Understanding NDIS Home and Living Supports:

The NDIS can contribute to a range of supports that empower you to live independently in your chosen home. Here’s a breakdown of some key points:

Individualised Planning

Your NDIS plan will outline the specific supports funded by the scheme, alongside any additional resources you may need to access through other systems.

Housing Options

Most participants secure housing through the private market (renting or owning) or social housing. NDIS doesn’t typically cover standard housing costs like rent, utilities, or furniture. However, there are limited exceptions where NDIS may contribute.

Short-Term Accommodation

This funding caters to short breaks away from your usual home, including respite care. It covers support and accommodation for up to 14 days at a time in various settings.
